Did you ever notice that light in spring? It has a warm hue that no other season has.
Spring is by far my favorite time of the year. Maybe because a half of the people I know (including me) have their birthdays in spring. Or maybe because of the feeling I get when everything around seems to come to life.
Another reason to love spring would be light jackets. No more heavy giant tents. Throw on a biker jacket or a trench, and you’re good to go.
Although wearing less is enjoyable, having to wear layers brings me the most joy. That's why I always cherish that blink in time between freezing winter and sweaty summer.
Without further ado, let's get right to the list of spring wardrobe essentials and their better, ethical, alternatives.
If coats had a class system, trench would certainly be at the top of the social ladder. Not a surprise, counting that it came from Britain.
Biker Leather Jacket
How something can be so classic yet still keep its rebel spirit? I don’t know. Biker leather jacket is my personal go-to anytime the weather calls for it.
I can’t express enough how grateful I am for straight cut jeans coming back to style. High-wasted, of course.
There’s nothing more horrifying than low hip-high jeans that simultaneously wrap your legs so tight, that one starts looking like a half-finished toothpaste. Your upper half of the body is a full part and your lower half is that dull, empty end of the tube.
So here’s to the straight ankle-length high-waisted jeans! (Yes, it’s that specific)
Simple staple that, if handled properly, can look very chic. Here’s a list of the ones I’m most fond of.
Button down shirts
One of the most versatile objects. It can be quite formal, so I’m always trying to style it the franchest way possible - casual, unbuttoned at the top, and black bra underneath.
I’m a sneaker girl, who is actively trying to transition into an elegant version of herself. Never thought it would be possible until I met this Boss Boot from EVERLANE. It was love at the first sight. I had to hunt them down in a specific style I wanted, waited for a month, and one evening, I got an email they were restocked. Good thing I didn’t decide to wait any longer, otherwise, who knows if we would be together today.
Heels can’t go without a good pair of sneakers, so here is a few of my sustainable favorites.
Bags & Accessories
Accessories are for having fun. As for me, I'm having the most fun when I'm comfortable. And you?
Nevertheless, the finds below are perfect for both.
In the comment below, let me know what are your spring staples you can't live without?
As always, I hope you enjoyed this post. And if you have anything to share, please do, I love having conversations with you.
